"Dungeon in Cemetery"
Posted by Garfield1961 on Dec-03-01 at 08:31 PM
I have been wandering around this *$!#@ dungeon all day and can't find the way out! Where is the exit? I know it loops around on itself, which makes it difficult to remember where you've been by the map.

I tired of even this approach, droppig a single bullet stone at every junction in the path, trying to make sure I covered it all. Guess graph paper is in order ... do they still sell that stuff
The other option is to teleport out .... it is always a great idea to have at least one portal set somewhere safe, as soon as you can.

I am at the Rapax Rift now, at lvl 21. I still never figured out what to do in the cemetary. There are six gravestones with blue graffitti on them. Then what? Thanks,
Pischle

(I really don't care for "puzzles" like this). It is said that of all of these rune puzzles, the one in wilderness is the most likely to be figured out (if any).
** SPOILER **
Touch all 6 (in any order, I tried many different orders before going to find the answer). When you touch the 6th one (if you make it the one that is a square with another symbol, while facing the symbol and standing slightly to its right), you will see a spot light up (especially if it as night) in the graveyard. It is just a corner, where a pillar is. Go over to the pillar and you have to stick an item in it (really obvious, since the ground lights up, not the pillar
). The item for this one is a plain ole dagger.

OK. Second time through the game. Missed the Cemetary dungeon on the first round, trying for it on the second. Touches the six blue graves and stuck the dagger in the SE pillar and.....nothing. Nothing happened. No hole in the ground. No secret passageway. Am I missing something really obvious? Thanks,
Pischle

You have to go out side the wall, all the way to the far SE corner (down from where the treasure chest is) and there you will find a ring of mushrooms. Stand in them, and you are magically teleported to the retro-dungeon.How obvious is that

I missed it for a while too. After placing the dagger-if it's done right it will stick out of the pillar-you have to leave the cemetery and walk around the outside, look for the weird mushrooms. Step on those and you're inside. The exit is VERY difficult to find.

That seems to be my predicament at the moment. I have my graph paper and I've mapped the whole dungeon except for one room with a 6-tumbler lock on it. My bard has 52% lockpicking and is at lvl 10. He has no hope of getting past this door. None of my spellcasters knows knock-knock, I have no knock-knock scrolls or books, and I used the last of my knock picks. Do I really have to wander around this dungeon just to level my spell casters so I can learn knock-knock?!And since you mentioned it, where is the exit?
Thanks,
Pischle

If I remember correctly, it is about 3 or 4 squares east of the west wall and about 2 squares north of center. In this area anyway. I found a spoiler site that has a map, but I don't remember the web site right now. A little later I'll try to find this site again and post the hyper-link.

Maybe this'll help

LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-01 AT 03:23 PM (Pacific)Well it helps and doesn't help. I'm standing in front of that door already. It is a 6 tumbler lock that I can't get by. I wrote an earlier post in this same thread about my predicament. Any ideas?
And another thing. I'm using X-Ray in the dungeon. I see red dots everywhere, but there are no monsters. I've been in every nook and cranny. Been though every door (except the one described above). What's up. Is that just to fool or confuse us. If so, it worked!
Thanks,
Pischle

If you're standing in front of that door, all you can do is keep trying to pick the lock. Your skill will go up as you try, I think. I got out of there the first time because I had a portal set. Otherwise I would've been stuck.

Well, not you ... but all of us. Making it pretty much a requirment for graph paper, back to the old days. Tools for Wizardry(r) 7

Pischle, I was just in the same predicament as you. i had spent hours in that dern dungeon, gained all kinds of xp, nd got stuck at that door. (Yes, it is the exit, but careful there's something on the other side.)I had a 50 lock pick (and it had already gone up from 48 in that dungeon.) No knock knock, used my last lock pick in there, just like you. I finally got to 51 and it still didn't work. So I just wandered around some more, resting, letting monsters generate, and killed a few more (lots) til my Gadgeteer leveled up, then I gave him 3 points in lock pick. I was finally able to pick it at 54. Maybe it's possible at 53 too, don't know.
Good luck!

who will never ever go into another dungeon without plenty of lock picks or knock knock scrolls!!!!!!!!!!!
