Okay, just entered Arnika with my Ironman party (Fig/Ran/Bar/Gad/Pri18->Val/Bis) (which btw is completely different to my first succesful L/S/V/Alc/Psi/Mag party, ending around Lvl 21), and would like to set up some kind of list of critical encounters yet to come...:-pickpocketing (my very 1st attempt ended up killing that HLL guy
(spoiler: you CAN quit Wiz8 during combat and then continue IM with the very beginning of that battle upon restarting Wiz8!)
-Gregor (the only death so far...)
-Rattkin Breeders
-Hogars (which give ridiculous low exp compared to e.g. all insects)
-that giant swamp frog
-PeeWee
-Tree Sprites (trynton)
-Mountain Sprites (A.peak; VERY messy if you run out of mana or can't get up Soul/Elemental Shield quick enough!)
-Unicorns & Demons (Turncoat, critical at ANY party level!)
-entering Rapax Castle (probably my most difficult and lengthy fight during first game; ended up with 40 kills and about 7x270k experience; the A.peak Rapax battle was like holidays compared to that
(btw, I didn't lose a single char in that Castle fight; but shortly afterwards one lonely Concubine wreaked a critical throw upon my Alchemist, which I think was the *only* instadeath we suffered during the whole game, apart from magic of course!
-Nessie
-Sorceress queen? I never did her in during my first game; what level do you recommend at Ironman?
-What about the three dungeons? Never did them either...
-I Just read about crushing problems at ropes/elevators/trapdoors. Any hints?!
-Falling down to Trynton
Are there other IM-instakillers apart from battles?
-Chests: I think Philosophers Bane (ALL gold gone) and Heatwave (ALL potions & scrolls gone) can be the most annoying on IM!
BTW, *nobody* can tell me he or she completed an Ironman solo game!!! (I quitted my non Ironman Samurai Solo after getting paralyzed and eradicated by those 6 spiders guarding the lever to UpperMonastery the x-dozends time
(because one will happen when you have forgot to quick save for 3 hours
)Well, any instant death event I think counts, like:
1) Standing under the elevated bridge in the monastery, then lowering it
2) Standing to close to the first mine cart and knocking the wood
off of it
3) Moving to much while on an elevator can cause death
p.s. I think the crushing deaths do not really end your iron man game (some sirtech magic allows you to restart), but I would test that in the monastery, rather towards teh end of tha game.

AArgh!!!My party just got eradicated by Sgt.Rubble's stupid obstacle course!
However, I pulled out my PC's plug the instance the screen went white, and was able to continue my IM game...
(That WAS cheating, wasn't it?!
