"Trynnie Village"

Posted by Edward Newbie (Guest) on Feb-24-02 at 06:34 AM
I am up to the Trynnie Village, but can't seem to go any farther. I talked to the chief and he told me to go kill the rats and to see the Shaman on bough 4. The problem is that, after roaming around for about an hour or so, I can only find 2 or 3 ladders which all lead to dead ends. I don't know if I am missing something or if you access the tree from somewhere else? Any help will be greatly welcomed. Also does anyone know where I can find a walkthrough of the later stages of the game?

but knowing what's to come ruins all the fun, doesn't it?

Better to just keep exploring and checking your map, to see where you haven't been.

You just haven't hit that path yet. Try the Hansel and Gretel approach ... drop a meaning less item at the foot and top of each ladder you use, as a marker to show you have been there.

Eventually you should find the one that goes to the second bough.

Wow, great idea. This is the most practical advice I've seen posted short of a spoiler map or something!

Now I know what to do with all those sneeze powders.

Thank you both for your information. It helped me greatly in the game. I do have 1 question not on this topic though. What is the best way to take care of 6 Leaf Sprites that are the same level or higher than myself. They get the initiative and go first. After they go I am 3 or 4 characters short. Any hints would help.

Cast Magic Screen at the highest level you can get before combat. Also cast Enchanted Blade to get a better swing at the Sprites. Equip your characters with magic protective rings, amulets and clothes. Choose high magic resistance over AC bonus. If you have the spells, cast Element Shield and Soul Shield in the first round (to protect against spells from the second round) and close in to melee combat in second round. Try to wait for them after corners so you don't have to walk a great distance and some of the Sprites have to advance first to get to see you.
If that doesn't help, reload until most of them are casting Eye for an Eye, doing no damage. The best thing, though, is waiting for a Trynnie Champion team coming close to the Sprites, then charging them. The Champions will take care of the Sprites, only keep in the background.
