"T'rang Hand"

I try to give the T'rang Hand to Balburk and he say "no thanks." I also see in the forum that you need to give Balburk an alliance letter but that letter disappears when given to the Mook Hologram. This has left me unable to get in Mt. Gigas.

I'm assuming that you got the quest to bring back something 100% t'rang. When you give the hand to Balbrack, he says something like, 'yuck, you keep that slimey thing' and then praises you for getting it. Hang on to the hand, because it may be useful somewhere else (where only a t'rang hand can get you into).

As for Mt. Gigas, you don't need to give balbrack the alliace letter in order to get into there. Once you have a level 3 security pass, you can access that area.

Yes I did get the quest, but when I try to give Balbrack the hand he will not take it. He just says "no thanks." I have used the hand to open the door in LMB and I had the alliance letter but I can't get past Balbrack. Which I think means I can't get the clearence. I have downloaded many different walkthroughs and all of them say give the T'rang hand to Balbrack but no luck for me. I'm about 3/4's done but can't get into Mt. Gigas. I look in my log entries and it still shows as not finished: "find 100% proof of T'rang." I'm even so far with the game my next step is finding the cordinants for the T'rang and all but Rapax are friendly.

How are you trying to give it to him? Through the Trade/give? If that doesn't work (although it should) you might try going into your inventory, clicking on the hand and exit inventory carrying it and then clicking on him with it and see if it makes a difference.

in that it comletes the quest to retrieve something 100% trang. He will not physically take it thoough, since it is useful to (or needed by) your party.

I have tried giving him the hand every way known. I have even swapped NPC's to see if that helped. I'm thinking I did something out of order and this may be a glitch but I may as well restart the game as to go back since I'm now in Rapax Castle and at level 21 or above on all characters.

You can give it to him, but he wuill not accept it - that is the way it is supposed to work. Go into dialogue mode with him, select teh hand, click give, he goes through his "Yuck!" verbiage, you get credit for the quest and you keep the hand (since he doesn't want the atrocious thing).

That is how it is supposed to work.

"Did you check"

Your inventory for a class 3 IUF security pass. If you find one (and you should) use it to get into Mt. Gigas. In addition to saying YUK he also told you to report for additional training. you got the badge then. Hope this helps and have fun. Another question did you enlist with the Umpani and gothrough basic training. If not there is where the problem lies. Not joining with the Umpani and/or T'rang simply loses you somee EXP and makes it harder to get into the Mook compound.

I have Class 2 IUF pass but not the Class 3. I have went through the course and joined the Umpani. I noticed that others think I'm not doing things right. I try to take the hand and clicking on him with the hand on my pointer and he says "no thanks." Then I enter the dialog mode and he states something like "your back I thought you were dead or something." The thing I have noticed is I can only select trade then give while in the dialog box or friendly, attack, etc. I think I may have pickpocketed him and pissed him off or something. If this is true how do I get to Mt. Gigas? Can I use a charm spell because reading his mind don't work.

give him some money or a decent item and get him friendly again before giving him the trang arm. That should work
