"Wiz Gold CD - slightly OT :)"

My kids have been watching me play Wiz8 and love it. When I told them I bought Wiz 7 (and 6) on FLOPPIES they laughed, but BEGGED ME to intsall it on their machine. Of course, without the manual, they are having a bit of a hard time. The floppies I found ok, but the box and manual (and HINTBOOK!!!) are gone to cyberjunkland. Can anyone help me out with the electronic copy that I believe is on the Wiz Gold CD?

I've got the Wiz Archives CD but don't recall a manual on it. I can check when I get home tonight and send it if I can get an email address from you.

If you prefer not to post it in this public forum, drop me a private message at Ironworks Wizardry 8 forum - I use the same ID there as here.

you mean the help files, one for the Manual, and one for tips, and maps?

ah, well you have me there! I assumed that there was an electronic manual on the CD. My kids have never heard of Thaumaturgy (sp?) let alone know what it does, and er, my memory doesn't go back that far.

This is MOST frustrating, as I found my Bane of the Cosmic Forge, floppies, Manula, box, stat sheets and all quite easily!

Found the CDS floppies, but nothing else. Damn, why did I not keep this classic in a place that I can find it!

Probably because Wiz 7 comes in two versions CoDS (DOS no audio) and GOLD (windows with audio , manual, and maps of dungeons included on CD). If what you have is CoDS then you need the manual because everytime you enter the game it asks you for a password based on the manual. I have several photostatic copies of the manual or can possibly extract e-copies from my Wiz Gold CD. If interseted, let me know. Thaumaturgy is the study/practice of magic. Theology the study/ of divinity (priest) and Theosophy mental powers (psionic). Hope I can help

I just sent them to your account. I hope you can receive 6+ MB file attachments or your kids are going to be VERY disappointed.

Head over to e-bay and buy the Ultimate Wizardry Archives. You'll get all the games and documentation on it, and it will cost you something like 10 bucks (including shipping). Plus, it comes on a CD.

Since he's in Australia it would cost him a bit more than $10. Plus all he needed was the pdf file. Now he can play Wiz 8 in peace while his kids play Wiz 7.

Ah, a new generation learns the joys of Wizardry -- doesn't it make you feel warm and fuzzy all over?

He didn't mention the Australia part. There may be someone from there selling a copy on e-bay though (or their local auction type website). Or they may have it at the local EB type store. It's definitely worth getting!
