I read somewhere,that the loudspeaker, the ptorch and the high voltage transformer are in the Mt.Gigas Caves...

I searched the whole place searching, additionally i casted detect secret, but i could not find these gadgets...

Can anyone help me with describing where they are??

Someone posted these items,could name the gadgets that are the result of merging ptorch(Searchlight) and the others..
How he could have done this with not finding these items???

I need these items, especially the searchlight!!

the ptorch is in a cave in pit in the unexplored area of mt gigas. As for the other two I cant remember (i dont think I ever found the other two)

I've been hearing that the Demon Doll was supposed to be in Upper Rapax Castle but just a couple of days ago someone else claimed that it was actually in the Cellar in an area where you needed a key for entry. I haven't made it back to that area to check it out but I don't recall any place down there where you needed a key.

Someone on another board claimed to have found the Loudspeaker at a cave-in/pit in Mt. Gigas that has ropes hanging from both sides. He also said on his second time through the game the ptorch was there instead and speculated that perhaps some of the gadgets were random instead of fixed. Somehow, I don't think I believe that but that was what he claimed.

As for how someone could name an item/location/merging results if something doesn't exist - they probably got the list either from 1) A Sir-Tech publicity blurb 2) the demo or 3) made the whole thing up. I vote for the first option since I think it's possible that some misinformation was given out based on older data. There are several sites on the web that have 'promo shots' of stuff that was later taken out of the game -- like a suspended bridge/walkway above the Mt. Gigas base camp.

I thought that Crock had the high voltage transformer-- a personal item behind the desk and upstairs.. or maybe you can buy it.. can't remeber for sure--- and it may not be the right thing that I am thinking about

Madras bought one from Crock on his first day with my team. He immediately built the forcefield generator, and it works great.

A few days later Crock had another one for sale. Maybe I should buy another one and try attaching it to other gadgets ...

It seems to me that there is some confusion (besides Guest Confusion ): Crock sells *Voltage Amplifiers*, meanwhile what we all have been looking for (to no avail) in the Mt.Gigas Caves is *High Voltage Transformer*.

Johnson and Johnson. Feel the difference.

Actually, Crock has an item called a Voltage Amplifier which is different from the High Voltage Transformer.

as for the ptorch, yeah i had heard it was randomized in the gigas caves as well, but i've never found it. Good idea on merging the transformers! i'll try it.. oh doh!!!... i restarted... NM..

Ptorch is always (I think so) in a flooded cave-in pit. You have to drop there taking some damage, get ptorch, and climb out using a rope left, presumably, by some thoughtful umpani...

Assuming my memory is correct, I found the Ptorch TWICE (I arsed up the alliance and had to redo from a savegame). Both times it was down the beach to the right when I entered the Sea Caves. I went out of the cave, onto the beach and explored all the way down to the right. It's at the end, between two rocks. I'm on my second go around and when I get there, I'll post if its not there.

i found the ptorch..
but the other two are still missing...

i got the items from croc,it is like someone posted above,the amplifier and the transformer are different items..

i need the one from gigas for the resurrection-gadget..

I don't think that's correct...

The location you're speaking of does hold a gadget, but it's the long metal tube, used to make the NegatAir. The PTorch is in the Mt. Gigas caves, unexplored area, southernmost cave-in at the bottom. I'm on my second game, and it's been that way for me twice. I found every gadget and instrument on the same location, so I don't assume they're randomized.

But where do i find the item to make the Electroshocker??
I know that there are a LOT of items,but as i said,this one i need.... Sad enough...

I will look for the ptorch, the searchlight will be usefull, too!!

In another post someone typed that the long metal tube is in the sea-caves...

So i need the searchlight a lot more than i thought, because trusting in posts seems to be very dangerous..

Read my post (17) again. I said that the Ptorch is in the cave-in at Mt. Gigas and the long metal tube is in the location you spoke of, i.e. at the Sea Caves, southeast beach, just what you read "in another post".

Concerning the other items (loudspeaker, demon doll, and high voltage transformer), I think I'll take one of my games and go through these locations with a very fine comb (or searchlight ) and if they are there, I will find them! (Hopefully)

Just got to Sea Caves on my second time around. My humblest apologies. It is the Metal tube on the beach. I didn't use a Gadgeteer the first time around, so I didn't really keep track of the locations of stuff. I now have a Gadgeteer AND a Bard, and the regenerating stone is the best thing he has ever made.

The best part about the regenerating stone is that you can get it w/o fighting the queen and all her folks... so you can start using it earlier... then go back and fight them later.

So do we all agree on the following:
1) P'torch is in one of the 2 cave-in holes in Mt. Gigas Upper Levels
2) Loudspeaker and Demon Doll do not appear to exist in the retail version
If anyone has found the Loudspeaker or the Doll, where are they?

Has anyone tried merging the doll armor onto the Jack In The Box? I haven't played with a Bard before, but I was thinking to give this a try. If the castle is supposed to be the location, perhaps that is the key.

I seem to remember finding the transformer on the beach at the far eastern edge of the Swamp map. It was a while back, so I may be wrong. I know I found it somewhere, because I made the strobe light. I haven't found it to be all that useful though.

I suspect that once you make the Jack in the box that you can mo longer make the demon in the box. This might be the way I hope that someone tries.

Doll (Arnika) + Armor (Castle) + Gloves (Castle) = Demon doll
Demon doll + Box = Demon in the box

Has anyone tried putting the armor and gloves on the wind up doll in the Prince's Playroom. Might be some thing there also.

The Ptorch is definitely in one of those cave-ins in the unexplored area of Mt Gigas. I know this, because I have found it there in BOTH of my games.

The voltage amplifier is what you buy from Crock.

The high voltage transformer (which you are asking for) is in the power plant in Mt. Gigas. It is a huge power plant...I dunno how all you guys are missing the place.

I cannot remember where the loudspeaker is...I would swear that I got that from the Umpani camp itself...but that one eludes me. I do not remember having trouble finding that one, either.

Keep in mind, that there is one cave-in that takes you to a whole sublevel in the unexplored section (a huge lake is down there)...I might have found the loudspeaker there...I just can't remember!! I do remember that some really good stuff was down there.

The toughest one to find is the Ptorch because it is in a nasty place.

@schmoo:I didn't miss the power plant in Mt. Gigas, but I didn't find any item, not even with Searchlight on. I also have never found the loudspeaker, although I explored that sublevel you speak of in both my games. I'll check again this evening, but I have my doubts...

@Blackwolf: The strobe light is made with the amplifier you get from Crock and the electric lamp (near the T'Rang teleporter AFAIR). The place you speak of contains the long metal tube, used to make the NegatAir.

i agree on the high voltage transformer not being in the power plant. I just searched it completly. I looked at every side of every support, box, etc. nothing to be found.

sounds like something that did not make the cut.
