"Alliance Schmalliance"

So what if I don't want to work with the T'Rang or the Umpani? Suppose I decide that I don't like either of them, and suppose I decide to check out restricted areas and then they attack me and now they're all hostile. What happens? Just curious.

I'm playing the game for a second time now, by the way -- it's a lot different and quicker when you know what to do. Team consists of:
Dracon fighter
Lizardman fighter
Mook ranger
Felpur healer
Elf wizard
Fairy ninja (for the CoC of course!)

You're missing out on a whole lot of missions and experience. However, killing billions of T'Rang and Umpani should net quite a lot of experience, too. You can finish the game anyway.-- The Duke

Can you complete the last missions for both the T'rang and Umpani? i.e. kill all the umpani and then kill all the t'rang?

I've actually been toying with trying to complete all THREE missions - get the alliance and then destroy the Umpani ship and break their spawning teleporter. It might be interesting to see if it is actually doable. After all, it's not like they give you any help up on the Peak like they promised to.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering too -- I did stuff for them the last time around, and where were they when I needed them? Nowhere! I became a god without any of their help.It may be interesting to do all their tasks and then, just before heading to Ascension Peak, go back and teach them all a lesson, which should be a piece of cake by the time I am level 20 or so.
Just a thought!

Yeah... that was what I was thinking... my guys are now up in the low to mid 20's... I don't see either being much of a problem. I wonder whether the traitor helps you, even though you've made the alliance...

Just go see the traitor before you take Drazic and Rodan to see Yamir and get the pass (not that you need it since Yamir gives you a real top security pass). You don't actually get any real help from the traitor other than that.On another plus note -- if you CAN complete all three missions then it also makes all the T'Rang and Umpani hostile to you so should be able to get 400k XP for the alliance, 400k XP for blowing up the Umpani ship, 400k XP for destroying the T'Rang spawner and then all the XP from killing off the U & T that are wandering through their areas.
I'm going to try this but somehow I would be willing to bet that after completing the alliance you can complete the other two missions but Yamir and Z'ant don't give you the XP bonus for them - understandable since they would be hostile to you and would fight you as soon as you enter their sight.

On a related note, is there a way to get that nice staff from the T'Rang without making them all hostile? It would be really nice for my ranger, but I don't want to tick anybody off over it.Lord Gram the Light

Try using tincture or chameleon. I camped to get an encounter...scared off the guards... then opened the door and snuck in. You have to run fast and not hurt anyone, but i did it with level 7 folks.
