"How does one deposit money in the bank?"

Posted by Flieg (Guest) on Feb-06-02 at 02:45 PM
I tried posting this on the other board, which may have been
inappropriate.

How do you get the bank clerk to take your money as a deposit
rather than as a personal gift?

I've tried talking about "deposit" "open account", etc.
and the best I've got is that I could wait for the Manager,
he was due back from coffee "yesterday."

Any hints or help would be appreciated.

Is there any reason you want to deposit your money? It's not like it affects your party's carrying capacity and no one ever tries to steal it from you. The only time it's in any danger is if you accidently set off a Philosopher's Bane trap and that can be avoided by simply saving just prior to attempting to open any chest so you can revert if you are hit by that trap.

Actually, I had heard that there is another place later on in
the game where you must give all the money you have on you
to a person to get past them. Having only 1000g on you
and 20,000g in the bank sounds like a deal to me.

Not that the bank is all that secure...
I'd just as soon be able to put it in the chest upstairs at
He'Li's, but I can't do that either...

I heard that too -- that being a Templar requires you to give all your money to them. It's not true. I think it cost me about 12k or some such. It was a pretty steep admission price considered by itself but by the time I got there I had almost $1,000,000 so it was a drop in the bucket to me.
