I'm an idiot. I killed rattus before even meeting the don. Now the don and milone attack me without speaking to me first. How the heck do I get the astral dominae now???:/

thanks for the info! I'll give it a shot.btw, it seems killing the don is a faster way of getting the astral dominae than waiting for the don to steal it first.

If you kill him before he steals it, how do you get the AD?

He always has it on him no matter how early you kill him. There are the odd holes in the storyline for this game in that you can get it off him before he steals it. And if you get the AD before getting the fake one, the savant guards attack you saying that they know you have the AD but afterwards the Dark Savant still says his same speech about you not knowing what he is talking about and doesnt realise that you have it. They have just done it this way so that no matter who you kill or what order you do things you can still finish the game. It might have been more realistic if you kill Don before he steals it, then you have to resort to other measures to get it (maybe stealing it yourself from the dark tower) or whatever but that would have taken a lot more programming and probably more problems (just like in a movie you have to overlook some of the holes in the script and just go along for the ride)

Did the same thing on my second time through. I just took out Milone and Don Barlone with my 7 person level 9 party though. I did it as two separate battles with rest in between. Milano wasn't too difficult but the Don was. I just got lucky with him. Vi ended up killing him with Skeleton powder so I didn't lose one character in either battle. Pretty sweet, everybody went up to level 10 after this kill.Mike Carson
