Way up above the kitchen in the Serpent Temple Belfry there is a fancy blue and black wall. Does this wall open? In the Belfry I have found 2 Belfry Spiders and 4 treasure chests. I wonder if this wall could be a designer's Easter Egg. I have not heard of any Easter Eggs in this game. (To get into the Belfry you take 2 elevators from the kitchen, go to the chest and stack up crates, then jump up onto the rust colored balcony.)

Today I e-mailed Rick Volberding and he gave me the answer to this question. He said that the Serpent Temple was the most changed dungeon during the development of the game. The belfry phantom door was originally planned to lead to another area of the temple, but as other sections were developed this area was abandoned. However the doorway with no door was inadvertantly left in the data file.
Anyway, it was fun to climb up there, so I hope you all take time to visit the belfry.

I took advantage of this new area last night...in fact, I left Shurigen Castle to attempt it. Had to make a staircase going up...and jump like mad, but I did make it up there and was able to walk around and beat up two spiders and several priests.

I looked for that entrance for that door...but never found it and assumed that it was a Easter Egg as well. Spent 2 hours overlaying maps and stuff to be sure that I hadn't missed a secret door.
