"Genie in a bottle ;-) (Boogre Quest)"

Sadly nothing about Christina Aguilera, but about a "real" genie in a lamp in Wizards and Warriors.
When you finished the Boogre Quest, there are two ways to exit. One leading back to where you came from - the other leading outside into a small clearing in the woods.
Here you'll find a huge double-headed cyclops named Doshi-Gin.
He might say something about a lamp before you kill him. Anyway, this lamp is a genie's lamp.
You can use it three times (how unusual), but each time you my choose to take a different character.
He'll give you six options - here's what they are and what you get:

1. Power
-> Charakter gains Arm of Argus trait. This is really worth it.
Your character does more damage in combat )
2. Ability
-> +1 to all attributes
3. Health
-> +25 hitpoints (your mage might like this...)
4. Armor
-> Chain of Argus
AC 4,8 TOUGH 78% REGEN +1
5. Weapon
-> Sword of Argus
Damage 6 - 20
Special Death Strike
Enchant +2 Hit +2 TOUGH 75%
(this thing IS tougher than the Mavin)
6. Ward
Amulet of Argus
AC +2
Protect Magic, Fire, Mind, Paralysis, Death, Cold, Poison,
Elements, Silence, Light 20%
5 * Merlin's shield spell

I took 25 hp for my mage and the Arm of Argus trait for fighter and ninja. Enjoy.

Thanks...I wish that I had known about this the first time through. I figured it was a Samurai or Ninja Quest item, so I just carried it...but never invoke it. Will do this time through though...thanks again.

"RE: tough rating on weapons?"

Can someone explain what the TOUGH rating is on a weapon? Does this describe the likelihood of the weapon breaking in combat? Or the likelihood of the weapon to lose effectiveness and become in need of repairs (i.e. tough = 100% means the weapon never needs repairs?)

There's a number of "derived" stats I can't figure out, too. How does the parry skill get calculated. My two ninjas are at like +10 to parry while my Ninja is at -1 to parry? His speed is near 12, dexterity is 15, using a no-dachi & wearing samurai armor and well below carry capacity? I've changed weapon and shields on this character but nothing seems to improve this parry score -- I don't get it. Any help?

I can help you with the "Tough" on the weapons. I admit it, I got really lazy and really hate to repair my weapons. Heck, my repair person took forever to get a decent repair rating of 7 in order to fix most weapons.

So I spent the moola to have my Priest add the "toughen" spell to their weapons. I did it until all the weapons have a skill of 60 percent, that way they don't have to be repaired at all. If you look at some of the weapons that you receive...ie the Mavin Sword or Kerah's Sword that have 98 to 100 percent, they never go broken.

So in short, any weapon that doesn't have at least a 60 percent tough ratio...is going to need repaired frequently. I hope that helps and it is worth it, to have your Priest give it that kind of blessing...expensive, but worth it.

Toughness 60 does not suffice. Katana +1 (i.e., Dragon Katana - damage 15-34, heh heh) has touhness 65 and must be repaired frequently. On the other hand, toughness 50 isn't enough. I must repair my Wakizashi +1 (i.e., Dragon Wakizashi, etc.) very often. But where is the problem? Why not give all your guys the Blacksmith Trait (warrior guild, level 3), teach them the Forge skill, and train it to 12? Forge is a trainable skill. Three clicks and the weapon is as a new one. Note: You need not even unequip the weapon - the equipped weapons can be repaired, too.
