"Are we punished for a good work?"

I am new at W&W, so if I am asking something normal and natural then sorry. What happened? I created a pixie wizard Dili. Dili has the following stats at level 3:

Dili: 17 HP, 13 12 12 10 - 9 10 12 8

Now I wanted to level up. 146 attempts to level up gave the following results: (AP = ability points, HP = hit points)

1 AP + 1 HP ..... 50 times
2 AP + 1 HP ..... 84 times
3 AP + 1 HP ..... 5 times
1 AP + 2 HP ..... 3 times
2 AP + 2 HP ..... 4 times

In the other words, 137 attempts out of 146 gave the worst result and 9 attempts gave a result second to the worst. Results better than the worst ones weren't seen at all. The level up results seem to be severely worsened by Dili's current stats. His 17 HP seem to doom him to 1 HP during leveling up (139 out of 146 attemts). In the other words, Dili is punished for being created well anf for not accepting the first roll during leveling up to levels 2 and 3.

Q1: Am I corresct?
Q2: Isn't it a bit silly?

Like the old guy who was collecting old bathtubs, every day one more out in his yard, 100, 200, 300, .... 997, 998, 999. THen he stopped. A neighbor asked why he stopped at 999 old bathtubs and he replied, "What would I do with a thousand old bathtubs" (need a groan icon )

Anyhow, it is *right*, by the rules they came up with. The game tries to keep things balanced, and you probably got good points for your first level ups, so this one is "balancing things out". If you keep going and take another good role here, the next will be worse.

As to question #2, yes on both counts

Oh well... Thank a lot... (As for the 146 attempts, the plan was 50 absolutely worst rolls, i.e., 1 HP and 1 AP. As we can see, the plan was completed quickly.)
