"Leprechaun bites the dust!"

I was wondering if anyone else had killed the leprechaun. I was playing around and figured out how to kill him. I have my cleric cast that whirling vortex type spell at a distance. This seemed to help do to the fact that it will follow him but make sure he is coming toward you. Then had my wizard cast meteor storm 3 times in a row real fast. I repeated this 2 or 3 times. It helped to have about 5 mana max potions but after he died each charter got like 70,000 xp he dropped a staff but haven't identified it yet. Was wondering if this was going to haunt me later since he doesn't really try to attack you.

... 'Cause I sure grew up being taught that you just had to *catch* a Leprechaun, and not kill one to get their treasure.

The confusing part (and not the only quest bugginess in the game) is that there's 2 Leps in the game - the first is on the Enchanted Isle and pretty much serves no purpose. The "quest" Lep is on the land above Kerah's temple. All you need to do is *talk* to this guy, and he leaves you with his treasure, including the quest-ending item (a necklace).
