"Who remembers Dragon's Lair?"

It's to be released for gameboy color in Feb. sometime; and I happened upon a copy for my son just through a chance meeting with one of the original designers.

It is an old arcade game and was one of the first of its kind: $0.50, TV-quality cartoon imaging and you controlled the character's (Dirk) reactions not actions. It was/is basically an interactive cartoon.

I definitely remember the arcade game. Pumped a few quarters into that one. Yes, it was state of the art electronic gaming at the time. I think it was the one that broke my addiction to Defender and Missle Command.

It was too little an 'arcade' game, like Galaga (I was the self-proclaimed Northern California champion ) or Pacman - too much memorization. Just remember jump on this square, then back, go left, .... You basically just had to keep pumping quarters in until you remembered all of what "simon was gonna say"

I never spent many quarters in arcades, more like paychecks

I didn't care for it all that much either. It came out around the time I decided to save up a couple days arcade money and buy a home gaming system....I think nintendo soon became available, before that was just atari.

happened upon a pretty bitchen(since we're a bit retro here) sight: http://www.klov.com/ Killer list of video games.
It brought back some memories.

I too was highly addicted to Missle command and Defender(probably my most favorite), but also spent hundreds on these: Berzerk, Vanguard, Zaxxon, Gyruss, Arkanoid, Starcastle, Joust and who could forget Xybots. But for the life of me I can't remember that Boxing game where you were the 3D rough draft, boxing cartoon goliaths who each had their own weakness.....left,left,right, uppercut, uppercut......
