I just have checked out Avernum from Spider Web software http://www.avernum.com/
It seems like nice game and has peculiar rogue like twist to it for those who are anxious before release of W&W and W8. Check it out in the hours before W&W ships....
In addition, I would like to inquire whether somebody has played BG2 already and what the impressions are.

I've played BG2 (And it's sucking me away from CODS screenshot editing...). I love it. Kits are included. Monks, Sorcerors, and Barbarians (from 3rd Edition) have been mixed in. Familiars for mages! (But that's cause they don't get kits.) Each class gets a stronghold! (I think...dunno about the 3rd Edition ones) DRAGONS. Level-draining undead! BEHOLDERS. DEMI-LICHES. LOTS of new monsters, newer spells, etc. etc. (Feel free to see how the Simbul feels like when you get your hands on Minor Spell Sequencer, Spell Trigger, and Major Spell Sequencer)
